K. Ellen Baxter
Born and raised in Twin Falls, K. Baxter is the resident partner of the Twin Falls branch of The Roark Law Firm. She graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington with a degree in Psychology and attended the University of Washington Law School in Seattle Washington, graduating in 1981.

From 1980 to 1982 K. worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the King County Prosecutor’s office in Seattle, Washington where she gained special training and experience in prosecuting sexual assault crimes and crimes against children. Upon returning to her native Idaho, K. worked as an associate attorney with a local law firm until she ran for and was elected Prosecuting Attorney for Twin Falls County in 1984. During her eight and one-half years in office, K. was a member of the Idaho Prosecuting Attorney’s Association, the National Association of District Attorneys, the Tri-County Drug Task force and was instrumental in developing and implementing the Criminal Justice Program at the College of Southern Idaho. She served as an adjunct professor at the college by teaching in the Criminal Justice program from 1992-1995 as it evolved into what is now a four year degree program. K. joined The Roark Law Firm as a partner in 1994 first in the Hailey office then returning to Twin Falls in 1998 to open the Twin Falls branch office.

K.’s practice currently emphasizes family law and criminal defense. She is licensed to practice all state and federal courts in Idaho and Washington and is a member of the Idaho State Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, and the Idaho Criminal Defense Attorneys. As a member of the Fifth District Bar Association for Idaho, she has assisted in beginning a Family Law Continuing Education program for attorneys in the Twin Falls area.

K. enjoys traveling, skiing, swimming and is active in community organizations for the performing arts with special emphasis in developing opportunities for children in the performing arts.
